This is a republished classic from the great pastor and author, James W. Alexander, an christian minister of the mid-1800s.
This incredible work displays the true and beautiful theology of family worship. It uncovers a vas corpus of understanding and direction concerning the worship and praise of God that is required of God's people. There was a day when worship in song, in Word, in catechising and in prayer was heard throughout the streets of our towns and cities. Today the very notion of a family 'covenant' to gather together at regular daily allowed times for family worship has all but waned. However, all is not lost. Families across every continent are recovering this lost practice and this, by God's grace, may well produce the longest lasting revival of Christianity the world has ever seen. May God be glorified. And may Christ be exalted and magnified again in our homes.
